Prows Family Medicine, PLLC

Small image of child patient

A teeny medical office owned and operated solely by Dr. Joseph Prows, MD/MPH in Downtown Fort Collins, Colorado.

If you filled out the pre-registration either online or at my open house, hold tight for a little longer while I finish organizing and triaging this information. If you are interested in joining my practice and have not yet submitted information, you may email me at RequestToJoin@prowsfamilymedicine.com.

Please note that I am doing my best to accommodate as many of my previous patients as possible. Space for new patients who did not see me previously is going to be extremely limited, at least during this start-up phase.

So far, I have received over 1000 requests to join my practice. Please be patient! I’m just one guy.

Fantastic! Better every day! Cabinets are (mostly) in, but proper countertops are a couple weeks out. All my supplies are put away and organized! Vaccine fridge and freezer are running but empty as of yet (what should I order first?). I am still awaiting a proper desk, but a plastic folding table works well enough for now. I expect delivery of proper patient chairs (not the cloth folding lawn chair variety) by the end of this week. Art is going up now. Signage is still nonexistent (trying to keep this place a secret) Window drapes are going in this Thursday! I feel days away from being able to start seeing patients full-time.

If your records are with UC Health, there is nothing you need to do. I retain full access to their system. For all other companies, you should start by checking with their office and following their specific policies and procedures. You may need to remain persistent. Beyond faxing a signed release-of-records request on your behalf, there is little that I can do to get these. Records may be faxed to me at my unpublished fax number or emailed as a PDF attachment to medicalrecords@prowsfamilymedicine.com. I am unable to accept medical records delivered on a USB drive.

As of 4/23/2025, I am credentialed/in-network with Cigna, Colorado Medicaid, SBA, Tricare, and United. I am about 2 weeks from being fully credentialed to accept Medicare B. I am in negotiation with Anthem/BCBS and optimistically will be in-network with them in 4-6 weeks. I am having trouble making progress with Aetna but am continuing these efforts. Humana has declined my request to be in-network due to them already having too many family medicine providers in this area. Humana states that they will allow me to re-apply in January 2026. Feel free to tell them how you feel about this.

Yes

Not until you have an appointment! I need to get you registered in my system before I am able to send prescriptions, and being registered in my current system before I prescribe to you is an important medicolegal requirement. If you are going to run out of your medication soon and I am unable to get you in, you must contact the office/corporation (not the individual prescribing physician) that last prescribed this. They are obligated to not abandon you.
